Val Heli-Ski and Henry's Avalanche Talk (HAT) A Week not to be Missed 17th-24th March 2013

In Association with

7 Days with Henry and Val Heli-Ski at Pook Heli-Lodges
17th-24th March 2013-A Week not to be Missed

Henry from HAT (Henry's Avalanche Talk) and Claire from Val Heli-Ski and Pook Heli-Lodges have joined forces in order to create a truly unique heli-ski and off-piste package focused around both teaching and encouraging mountain awareness when enjoying yourself off-piste.
This opportunity is not just aimed at heli or off-piste skiers and boarders. Pook Heli-Lodges pride themselves on including non skiing and non heli-skiing participants. There are plenty of activities to take part in, for example: snow shoeing to a wilderness Yurt, pampering in Val D’Isere, husky dog sledding, yoga, farmers markets, ice driving, go carting and for the thrill seekers; sky diving.

About the Organisers

Henry Schniewind is an internationally renowned snow and avalanche expert who studied avalanche forecasting as part of a Geology degree in the United States and then moved to the French Alps where he works as an off-piste ski guide and director of HAT. He has given over 750 talks and courses in the last 20 years including presenting at international snow science conferences. He has published many papers and articles-often in the British press.
Henry created HAT in response to the fact that 9 out of 10 victims of avalanches trigger the avalanche themselves and many of these could have been avoided.
He delivers a risk management formula that will help you to see how riding off piste can be no more dangerous than the activities that you engage in everyday.
Henry has been guiding off-piste for close to 20 seasons in Val D’Isere where he has also been working with Ecole de Ski Alpine Experience  (one of the most prestigious off-piste ski schools in the Alps) for 10 seasons.
He holds a Fully Certified French Ski Instructor Degree from the Ecole Nationale de Ski et d’Alpinisme.

Claire Jeffery is an ex sponsored snow boarder and lawyer who is extremely enthusiastic about heli and off-piste skiing. Claire wanted to combine these passions with her understanding of the corporate market in order to challenge people's expectations of the traditional ski holiday experience.

Tom Robbins from Financial Times magazine described the company as:

"A select group of ski professionals is upping the ante on the heli-skiing experience……they have marked the start of a new trend in the industry – the private heli-ski lodge".
